New Pine Creek
This is said to be the oldest town in Lake County. Original intent was to name the place Pine Creek because of a nearby stream, but postal authorities objected to this because of duplication, so the name New Pine Creek was adopted. The post office was established December 8, 1876, with S.A. Hamersley first postmaster.

Crane Mountain: Crane Mountain is the highest point in Lake County at 8,357 feet above sea level. A moderate mountain too most but with difficult to steep grades and rugged terrain. Also available on Crane Mountain is Crane Mountain National Recreation Trail. Crane Mountain Trail offers many scenic vistas and diverse environments as it traverses the slopes and summit of rugged crane. Crane Trail is open to hikers, pack stock, and mountain bikes for its whole length and motorized use on the 8-mile segment from crane Mountain peak to the Oregon/California state line.
Goose Lake State Park: This peaceful campground sits amidst green grass and shade trees on the shore of Goose Lake, a large, shallow lake that straddles the Oregon-California border. Its remote location makes reservations unnecessary. Visitors are thrilled by the bird life inhabiting the Goose Lake valley. Migratory waterfowl is most abundant in the spring and early summer when stream runoff is at its peak. Mule deer frequent the park, mornings and evenings, during the late summer and fall to feed on the fruit from homesteader's orchard located within the campground.
